1. Who this page is for
This page is not about our customers. It is about other businesses — garages, fleets, taxi and driving-school operators — whose details we hold in a working index built from public registers. If you have found this page because you received an email from us, or because you want to know whether you are in that index, everything you need is below.
2. What we hold, and where it came from
Only what a public register already publishes. In practice that is: the company name and registration number, the registered office address, the SIC codes, the incorporation date, and any insolvency or dissolution notice. Where a named person's business email address is held, it is because it was published in that capacity.
Every record names the register it came from and the date we read it. A record that cannot say where it came from is not allowed to exist in our system — that is enforced by the database, not by a policy someone has to remember.
Our sources are Companies House, The Gazette, the national planning register and the non-domestic EPC register. We do not buy lists.
3. Why we hold it
Two reasons, and we keep them apart.
To understand the market. How many garages there are, where they are, how many close each year. This is counting, and it never results in anyone being contacted.
To offer a trade account to businesses that might want one. We rely on legitimate interests for both. We have written down the balancing test and it is reviewed every year.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell, share or transfer this index to anyone.
- We do not build a profile of you or make any automated decision about you.
- We do not add sole traders to marketing selections. A sole trader is a person in law, and being listed at Companies House does not change that.
- We do not hold anything a public register has not already published.
5. How long
Twenty-four months from the date we last verified the record, then it is deleted automatically. Nobody has to remember to do it and nobody can extend it.
6. How to be removed
Email hello@onefixuk.com with the company name or number and ask to be removed. You do not have to give a reason and you do not have to be a customer.
We do two things, not one. We delete what we hold, and we keep a one-way fingerprint of your identifier so that our systems cannot add you again the next time they read the register. That fingerprint cannot be turned back into your details — it can answer "has this business objected?" and nothing else. It is the only way an objection can survive a system that re-reads the registers every night.
We will confirm when it is done.
