How much does a clutch replacement cost at ONEFIX?
We don't put one figure on this, because it isn't one job — what a clutch replacement involves varies a lot from car to car. What stays the same is how we price it: we look at your car, then give you a fixed price in writing before any work starts. You see the number before you commit to anything.
Why can't you just give me a price over the phone?
Because a number given without looking at the car isn't really a price — it's a guess, and guesses turn into arguments later. ONEFIX quotes a price in writing before any work starts, and doesn't do work that hasn't been approved. That only works if the quote is based on your actual car, not an average of every car we've ever seen.
What happens after you've looked at it?
You get a fixed price in writing, in plain English, covering the parts and work agreed. If you say yes, that's what you pay — nothing is added on afterwards without going back to you first and getting your approval again. If you say no, that's the end of it; the decision is yours either way.
Is a slipping clutch always the real cause?
Not necessarily, and we won't say it is without actually putting the car on a ramp. A slipping feeling has a few possible causes, and the only honest way to know which one applies to your car is to look at it. If you're trying to work out whether the clutch is even the cause in the first place, ONEFIX has a separate page on the signs a clutch is slipping that's worth reading before you book.
Do I need to pay anything to get a price?
Booking a slot online holds it with a small, refundable card hold, which is released again when you turn up — that's to keep the slot for you, not a payment towards the clutch job itself. You'll get your fixed price for the actual work once we've had a proper look, before anything is touched.
Will the price change once the work has started?
No. Once you've approved the fixed price, that's what you're charged for the work agreed. If something else turns up once the job is underway that wasn't part of the original quote, that's a separate conversation and a separate approval — it's never just added to the bill afterwards.
Can I get a second opinion before I say yes?
Yes. You're never under pressure to decide on the spot. The quote is yours to take away, think about, or check elsewhere — ONEFIX doesn't do any work until you've actually said yes to the price in writing.
Does the quote cover everything, or are there hidden extras?
The written quote covers the parts and the work agreed at the time you approve it. ONEFIX doesn't do work that hasn't been approved, so anything found afterwards that wasn't in the original quote gets raised with you separately, as its own fixed price, before it's added to the job. You should never be presented with a bigger bill than the one you said yes to.
What if I decide not to go ahead after the inspection?
That's an entirely normal outcome, and it's one of the reasons ONEFIX quotes in writing rather than guessing a price up front. You've approved nothing until you've actually said yes, so if the fixed price doesn't work for you, or you want to think about it, or get it done elsewhere, that's your decision to make without any pressure from us.
How do I book a clutch inspection in Wrexham?
Book online with your registration, choose a slot, and tell us what you've noticed — slipping, a burning smell, or trouble selecting gears. ONEFIX is at Plas Acton Garage, 282 Chester Road, Wrexham, LL12 8DU, open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. We'll look at the car and come back to you with a fixed price before anything starts, in writing, so you know exactly what you're agreeing to before any work begins.
